It’s been a long time since smokers could light up on a plane or during a business meeting, but a new product is allowing them to do exactly that.

@botchalism
I have e-cigarrete it is just like smoking hookah and most of all you can smoke 1 cartrige for full day until it runs out.
And the chemical most responsible for lung and throat cancer in normal cigarette is tar.
I will take that to heart. I think you’re quite right. I’d like to see some hard figures and presentations on overpopulation, because I’ll admit (though I have only a surface-level understanding) a lot of what they’re saying makes sense. I suppose it’s what we do about it that’s the problem. And not to pick on muslims, but it’s my understanding that they’re contributing a great deal to it, by having four wives at a time, and cranking out kids they can’t afford to educate and take care of.
Overpopulation is a problem but not in first world countries like the US, England, France, Italy, Japan, etc. It’s the third world countries that have tremendous unsustainable growth rates. I agree that things are going on behind the scenes and even before our eyes that people are too afraid to acknowledge, but what proactive things can you do to respond? Join a Ron Paul group go to a John Birch society meeting, get involved, big changes in politics involve relatively small groups of people.
[TYPE-O]: “They see overpopulation as a [PROBLEM]… ”
P.S. As far as I can tell, it really is a problem.
I agree, you’re absolutely right. But, I really do think it may go as far as I’m saying. They see overpopulation as a goal, and they need to reduce the population, while simultaneously getting as much slave labor to- rather than wasting the resources of the earth- contribute all they have to the good of the elite and then die. I’m being a little paranoid- I’ll admit, and perhaps overextending the words of a few to the FDA and special interest groups. I suspect we’re not hearing it all, though.
I think you’re taking it too personally. It’s not that “they” don’t want you to be happy nor does the government care if you’re happy. It poses a threat to big tobacco corporations so they use their lobbying powers over the government to influence the FDA, simple as that. Just the same with the organization “Drug Free America” that is largely funded by the Tobacco, Alcohol, and Big Pharma industries. They’d love for you to be happy…..using tobacco, alcohol, and prozac…
We the cattle cannot just be standing still, enjoying ourselves. At the very least, they have to find a way to make money from it, by taxing it. So, with any given recreational activity, they have to find a way to declare it a sin, make us feel guilty for doing it, so they can tax it. The fact that they issued a goddamn warning about E-cigs before they even know if one needs to be issued, shows that it’s about money- not science- not saving lives. Their tobacco revenues will drop.
The government doesn’t like for people to derive any sort of pleasure from their short little lives on earth, if it doesn’t in some way benefit them. You see, they see you and I as THEIR resource. We are a natural resource, and when we engage in any recreational activities that have nothing to do with benefiting them, it’s a misallocation of resources- we’re wasting a natural resource that they see as belonging to them (i.e., our lives). We’re freeloading, if our behavior doesn’t benefit them.
I think E cigarettes have to be one of the greatest inventions of the decade and I don’t smoke. I like smoking a hukkah occasionally but that’s probably way worse then an e-cigarette. If I were able to get the same good taste/buzz from an e-cigarette I’d probably buy one. It’s really not the nicotine alone that kills you it’s the other 4000 deadly chemicals in normal cigarettes.
Botchalism: You know what else petroleum is good for?
Fertilizer and pesticides, for the huge tobacco crops needed to make flammable cigarettes (I don’t imagine niquid requires nearly as much).
I’ve quit “smoking” for over three months with these, after 46 years of lighting up and poisoning everyone around me, including my dog.
As for this ditz and smokeless cigs on airlines, I recently read of one which has actually begun SELLING them on board.
Vape ‘em if you got ‘em.
I wouldn’t be surprised one bit, why do you think that Obama banned flavored cigarettes which just so happens NONE of the major US companies own any of these products? Simple, Obama looks tough on tobacco and actually helps out his business buddies cut out the competition, win win. Besides our government has already had the bumper sticker reading: “I Work for Big Oil Industries. Uncle Sam Wants Your children to Die Defending Giant Corporations Who Fill Government Campaign Coffers”
Is anyone else AMAZED at this technology?…I mean HOLY SHIT THIS IS SO COOL!!!!
“Well… it’s their studies.”
So, this bitch is saying that a study done by the manufacturer is less accurate than the same study done by the FDA?
God, some people are so ignorant. The ONLY difference between manufacturer studies and FDA studies is the FDA is a government agency, and having a non-governed cigarette alternative means they lose money, so naturally they’re out to get e-cigs.
I love this fuckin’ shit-hole country.
The reporter belongs to ASH. What would you expect?
Actually you can smoke them on planes, so muahahaha you assholes. “Will they actually allow them on planes… I can’t see that happening”… yeah why not? There is no second hand smoke, and the vapor you blow out is water based vapor which contains no nicotine..etc. You anti smoking people should get with this because this is the only chance you will have to see smokers want to put real cigarettes down, and it’s safer, less offensive.
But nooo you non smokers do not want to see anyone smoking whether its with a fake safer cigarette or a death causing cigarette… you just don’t want to see people putting anything resembling a cigarette in their mouth. Eventually you will have to admit the smoking bans have little to do with the health hazards and more to do with you wanting to tell people how to live their lives… these types love Obama because he’s not opposed to telling people how to live their lives… the droids live.
unless you are completely oblivious to sarcastic tones, this report was definitely not lacking a strong opinion.
I have lost my faith in the FDA. How can they even sleep at night. E-cigs are safer than smoking. Not just a little bit safer but a heck of a lot safer. Our government would rather kill hundreds of thousands of people than take a pay cut from tobacco tax sales and pays off by Pharm companies that put out “quit smoking” aids that are at best 90% failure rates, at worst shown to cause an increase in suicide rates. Why cant the government do something good for the people and let us vape.
The lady reporter sounds like she works for the FDA .
THEY ARE SAFE I HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR 3 MONTHS AND MY LUNGS FEEL SO DIFFERENT AND CLEAN . SAVED MY LIFE DONT LISTEN TO FDA THEY ARE TAX HUNGRY DOGS
This is awesome! People can smoke in hospitals, nursing homes, non smoking resturaunts,Planes, stadiums. No mre is the smoker the abused dog of the world. REJOICE SMOKERS AND GET YOUR ECIGS TODAY! I imagine the Gov’t will try to sut this down because they will loose billions in tobacco tax revenue. Good for the pigs!
WOW! A news station that just reported the story and had no bad opinions just some facts, Great Job KXAN
Wrong. It’s not just e-cig industry studies. The FDA approved propylene glycol as “generally considered safe” in foods and medicines, and has approved nicotine in patches, gum, and inhalers. For them to now reverse their positions on these and find PG and nicotine unsafe would be the same as Hamburg and Sharfstein putting bumper stickers on their cars reading: “I Work for Big Pharma and Big-Tobacco. Uncle Sam Wants You to Die for Our Tax Revenues. Have a Happy Chemo Session. We Own Your Lungs.”
If the FDA is so concerned about everyone’s health why haven’t they banned Tobacco cigarettes? Maybe cause they tax the hell out of them? Why ban a product that has no second hand smoke and contains less of the same chemicals as tobacco? MONEY! FDA is completely retarded.
coldn’t have said it better, thank you!
These will be made illegal shortly in the US with the signing of the Kennedy tobacco bill. This bill is a government sponsored death sentence for the 440,000 people who die each year from cigarette deaths. It just protects the tobacco industry. They actually found a group of people dumb enough to believe that the bill was going to help their children. No they are put at risk in the event that they ever start smoking.
