My doctor has recommended that I try electronic cigarettes. I’d like something that will fulfill my emotional addiction to cigarettes while stepping down the nicotine so that I can get past my chemical/physical addiction to nicotine.
What would be the best product to buy? Have you/do you use an electronic cigarette? Which brand? Do you like it? Why/Why not?
Thanks for your help!
Also, I am interested in finding information about refillable cartridges so that I don’t have to continually buy disposable cartridges.
Which electronic cigarettes come with refillable cartridges? How do refillable cartridges work?

Hi Cassie,
good doctor
To reduce your nicotine intake:
One option is to gradually lower the level of nicotine in your cartridges to become nicotine and tobacco free.
The other option is to smoke electronic cigarettes with zero nicotine cartridges while applying nicotine patches. That way you separate addiction and habit.
I personally use e-cigarettes and love them. I recommend one of the e-cigs here
http://www.ecigarettes365.com/buying_guide
They are all very popular, reliable, and from well established companies. Read the info on the page and decide which one is right for you.
You can pretty much refill any cartridge that you buy. Some are slightly more difficult than others to refill, but all cartridges can be filled with liquid.
My personal favorite product is the 2 piece e-cig. I do use it. I use the Blackjack from 21 Century Smoking. I like it because they have a decent variety of flavors and stand behind their product. When you call there is an actual person to talk to and they personally respond to emails. Also, you can’t beat their prices!
In terms of refillable cartridges, you are putting liquid back into the cartridge when it starts to run out of juice. This is where a 2 piece e-cig comes in handy, because you don’t have to worry about the atomizer and the cartridge because there is no atomizer to worry about. However, you can’t refill these indefinitely because the atomizers aren’t designed to last quite as long.
Hope you enjoy and that it works for you!
You have an awesome doctor!
I recommend you read some forums to learn about e-cigs. There are many models and prices vary by A LOT – you can get a quality e-cig kit for around $50.00 if you know what you are buying.
Check out some video reviews on youtube and read some forums – best sources of information and research so you don’t end up with an over priced piece of crap e-cig (like I did!) Learn about them first.
You are SO going to love vaping!
Here’s some forums I find helpful and fun too.

Good Luck and Happy Vaping!
Contrary to what someone said here as an answer, not all electronic cigarettes are refillable. You are right to want one of them, too. Not only do they provide a better “vaping” experience, they are far more affordable to maintain.
I quit smoking regular cigarettes once I got my electronic cigarette. It isn’t exactly the same but sure is close enough.
Even if you go with the highest nicotine content e-liquid, it still does not have as much nicotine as a regular cigarette does (a half to two-thirds, actually). You can then gradually step down to lower nicotine levels.
Keep in mind, however, that although there are many of us out here that have quit smoking because of these devices, they are not marketed as stop smoking devices. It is still up to the individual to want to stop smoking.
The best ones that I know of are the DSE901 and the Joye 510. I use them both back and forth and cannot decide which one is better. The cheapest place I know of to get them is at http://electriccigarettestop.com. They are running a special right now where you can get either starter kit for less than $50 and shipping is free. They are also one of the few places that provides a phone number so that you can speak to someone if you have questions!
I have your answer for sure! Check out my blog! I write all about electronic cigarettes and electronic smoking.
