Have you had success in quitting smoking with the electronic cigarette?

I’m desperately wanting to quit smoking. Not only for myself, but for my fiance; she hates it. Have you had ANY success quitting or at least curbing the crave using one of those new electronic cigarettes? The advertisements look too flashy and fake so idk what to think. That’s why I’d rather have an answer from someone that has personal experience with them. Thank you!

I have reduced smoking a lot, replacing regular cigaretets with electronic cigarette. Haven’t quit though. Don’t believe the flashy advertisements, read actual user comments on the web, there are lot of crap products that advertise themselves as the best ones.

YES! Almost 10 months tobacco free with my e-cigs! Check it out & go for it!

Be careful of the “free” anything sites and affiliate sites. Check out forums for information and reputable places to buy from.

forums: vapersforum.com or e-cigarette-forum.com also check out videos on you tube or vapetube.com

    Best of luck.

I am now tobacco free and nicotine free. Now I just enjoy my routine and habit of puffing on a cig (an e-cig that is).
I don’t claim that I quit but I am much better now … Check out this forum – it has some good stories from smokers who “quit tobacco cigs”.

    Yeah I quit with greensmoke.

There are quite a few brands of electric cigarettes out there. But in my research and trials I have found greensmoke to be the most “real” and satisfying product. My sister bought a cheap version on-line and I tried it when I went to go visit her and hardly any “smoke” comes out and it wasn’t satisfying at all! and guess what! she’s still a smoker so it obviously hasn’t worked for her either. I will have to introduce her to this now that I’ve have found a good product.

How it works is instead of “burning” the nicotine like a traditional cigarette. The e-cigarette contains an atomizer that vaporizes the nicotine instead. So you still get your nicotine hit. The greensmoke electric cigarette comes in a few flavours including Tobacco, chocolate, vanilla, apple, coffee and strawberry. It also comes in different strengths just like a regular cigarette so you can get 8mg or 6mg or 16mg etc.

In the long run you also save money. The initial purchase of the battery part is $49.95 American. and then you need a charger etc. You can simply purchase the starter pack for about $150 American and it includes 2 electronic cigarettes, the charger and 5 extra cartridges (the filter part). The e-cigarette is under warranty as well so all you ever need to replace is the filter cartridges which last about as long as a packet of cigarettes. They cost about $15 American for a pack of 5. That’s equivalent to roughly 5 packs of cigarettes which would usually cost you around $60!! So it works out to be a lot cheaper.

    This site has more information,

and if you want to buy one you can also buy it there. Give it a go. I did and am now a proud non-smoker :

Do you know that US FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) and WHO (World Health Organization) doesn’t consider e-cigarettes to be a safe and effective smoking cessation aid.
“WHO has no scientific evidence to confirm the product’s safety and efficacy. Its marketers should immediately remove from their web sites and other informational materials any suggestion that WHO considers it to be a safe and effective smoking cessation aid,” said Dr Ala Alwan, Assistant Director-General of WHO’s Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health Cluster.
Moreover, in May 2009, the US FDA’s Division of Pharmaceutical Analysis tested the contents of cartridges by two vendors. Dyethylene glycol was detected in one of the eighteen cartridges. In addition, tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) were detected in all of the cartridges from one brand and two of the other. Further concerns were raised over inconsistent amounts of nicotine delivered when drawing on the device.

You should know not to post anything related to e-cigs on yahoo answers because all you’re going to get is a bunch of crapt by people who are advertising. Anyways, I bought an electronic cigarette and quit for 7 days but then started smoking again. I realized that the reason I started smoking again was because I never wanted to quit in th first place, now if you want to quit using the e-cigs I think they will help. By the way I’m not advertising or anything but just listen to me if you’re going to buy e-cigs I would reccommend one place and one place only which is http://www.mypvshop.com I researched 2 weeks before I finally found the right palce to buy it since there are a lot of brands out their. Also, one more thing if you do decide to get an e-cig choose the “JOYE 510″ since it’s the closest to a real cigarette.

Didn’t work for me (I quit thanks to http://stopsmoking.eu.pn/) but everyone is different in the way they stop smoking, so what worked for me might not work for you. The only way to tell if any given method works or not for you is to try it, ¡Anything to stop that habit is worth it!

    Hope this helps :)

I Quit smoking with an e-cig in September 09. I’ll admit it was a little rough at first but after getting used to it everything went well. I actually stopped right in the middle of a pack of Camels the day i got it. One note to make though, you really don’t want to use an e-cigarette to “quit” smoking. They are meant to be an alternative to smoking and I will continue to use mine just as that with no real intention on quitting, just a safer alternative.

After doing a TON of research I found that the “Titan 510″ was one of the best and most used on the market. I ended up going through a company called “Totally Wicked” due to the fact that they have AWESOME customer service and a great forum with tons of people to steer you in the right direction as well as offer support. If you chose to get one id recommend going through them and signing up for their forum to post questions while you wait for your e-cig to arrive. Also you can get a 7.5% discount on any order you place with them using the discount code SMYVAPOR during checkout.

Also may want to check reviews on different nicotine liquids and devices on Youtube to get a better idea of what your looking at. Hope this info helps!

It’s almost two years now since I swapped from smoke to vapour and it was effortless for me. There’s a learning curve and it takes a while to find hardware and tastes you like but it’s the beginning of an adventure that’s definitely worth a try.

Vested interests have been working hard to discredit vaping because it threatens the tobacco and pharm industries plus the anti-smoker campaigners who are funded by the pharm companies to promote their cessation products.

Get the facts for yourself, don’t trust the FDA or the World Health Organisation, they don’t want you to swap. Also, watch out for scammers and undercover marketing, get advice and support from an independent forum.
