Host Jay Ingram interviews associate professor Carl Phillips of the University of Alberta as he discusses his research on e-cigarettes. He is studying quality control as well as the electronic cigarette’s potential impact on society, both on current smokers and non-smokers. Prof. Phillips first talks about what an e-cigarette is, what it contains, and how it works. He then talks about the safetey issues with e-cigarettes in Canada, and why Health Canada isn’t going to approve them for sale in Canada.
